What counts as a demo interview?

A demo interview starts the first time you use Promptly — a question, Screen or Listen — and lasts until you’ve been away for 2 hours, so one interview or call is one demo. Ask as many questions as you like inside it. Free includes three.

Can I try it without a call?

Yes. Play any video with people talking, press Listen (Ctrl Shift L), then Answer that (Ctrl Shift Enter) after someone asks a question. On Free, a practice run counts as one of your demo interviews.

“Answer that” says nothing was heard

Answer that answers what Promptly has heard, so start Listen first (Ctrl Shift L) and let the question finish. Then press Answer that.

It doesn’t hear the other person

Open Settings › General and, under Listening, choose Mic + system. Promptly then hears the call through your computer’s audio as well as your microphone.
